I'm in agreement and I'd go so far as to say that OP privileges should be available to anyone, as it was before. You just can't anticipate who'll be present if someone jumps in and makes a jerk of him or herself. I can see restricting it during a lecture, but all of the time? Makes no sense.
In fact, by restricting OP when no formal lecture is going on actually acts to expose UT members to problems or harrassment rather than protecting them. This is leaving everyone defenseless.
BAD move.
