>I made a simple suggestion some time ago that was shot down. Have all the lectures in the room #Lecture. Makes more sense.
It was actually quite a good suggestion. I didn't implement for three reasons:
1) Part of the purpose of the Wednesday Lectures is to showcase existing support fora available to developers. VFP, VB, internet and others. The usage of the UT chatroom was incidental. I am familiar with it, it is stable, my copy of mirc was set up for it. It is easy for UT members to get to. I could have used the VFUG chatroom. This is also why the foxwiki is used for the chat logs and not the UT documents sections. Kinda to spread the love out a bit and make it forum neutral.
2) I am not part of the decision making process to implement features, fora, chatrooms on the UT. My position with the UT has been overstated in the last few days. I approve the links and gather news for the main page.
3) The Wednesday Night Lectures are not a UT service. This is a personal project of mine. I saw a need and thankfully speakers came forward (yourself included) and presented.
I hope that you didn't get the feeling that you were shot down. I did consider your request.
