Dennis,

Are you familiar with the setting of

SET TEDIT TO

When you use this, it opens up the textedit of your choice when you do a modi comm or otherwise edit an text file from within VFP.

However, you can only set this in an ini file that is referenced when you start up VFP. In other words, from the dos prompt or in a shortcut property:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Vfp98\VFP6.EXE" "-TCC:\DEV\MISC\MMconfig.fpw"

will open up VFP with an ini file in this case called MMConfig.fpw and in it is the line

Set TEdit to ultraedit32.ext
