That's all very nice Ed, but just because YOU don't use it that much (or at all, whatever) doesn't mean that it isn't important. No, Michel didn't have to add IRC server, but he did, and if it is going to be there, then it needs to be managed.
You obviously aren't paying close attention to what is going on here, and are jumping in in the middle without getting up to speed on what our real concerns are. But since it doesn't matter to you, you wouldn't really have a reason to anyway. That is understood. If you were to have read up, you would see that someone has already setup another IRC server.
And while we are talking about services added to the UT, when's the last time you actually saw something on the wish list get implemented?
A lot of people's attitudes are "it doesn't effect me, so who cares", and that is just wrong.
