I get the machine and user name using sys(0). The problem is on a Novell network using only IPX you can have duplicate machine names and never know it. This has been a problem when installing my system where the user has just purchased several new PCs and they all have the same name. I need to use the NIC address as a backup. I don't think I can use the registry because it can hold the address of an old NIC that was replaced in adddition to the current one.
