Just a quick note: I found myself in exactly the same position as you just a few months ago. I changed jobs only to find the new one was not going to work. What worked for me was getting my resume onto the net, such as Monsterboard and others (about 10). The response I got back were mostly from recruiters, and I had something lined up within days - much quicker than I expected.

I am currently in a much better position than if the job had worked out!

There may be a recruiter out there right now with a VFP project in your area, but you will never know if you don't get your name out there.
