Oh well, other suggestions:-
Could be that something still has the files open or the file-size is being reported incorrectly or something - have you tried rebooting between file-creation and CD-ROM writing: have you tried a filecompare (FC under MS-DOS) between the original and the unzipped? Have you downloaded any updates from Adaptec (the site's terrible I know). Have you tried copying the files to a floppy via the O/S - come to think of it, have you tried formatting a CD-ROM for access as if it were a disk and tried copying? Have you switched off any anti-virus software? Have you checked your hard-disk for errors? See what Windows thinks is associated with the file extension.
Just ideas.

I use the HP CD-Writer Plus, 8200 series, connected to the USB. For me, everything copies just fine. The only complaint I have is that while I am using the CD-Writer I cannot open any other application -- none, nada, zip. If I do, the CD-Writer belches an error about corrupted indexes on the CD and quites, wasting a CD. SCX files give no problem at all.

>Yes I checked the excluded files. Initially there was nothing in the list, then I put .bak in that list. Did not make any difference. The thing that throws me on this is the fact that once zipped and extracted, they behave normally. Still puzzled?
