Unfortunately, they're not accessible from VFP directly. You have to use either something like my lnkfiles.dll (from the download section under Win32 and other APIs).

Secondly, and the best option for my money, there's the Windows Script Host's Shell Object. Ed Rauh and I discuss creating shortcuts using this method in the Sept., 2000 issue of the VFUG newsletter which is available on-line at www.vufg.org.

Lastly, and you can't do this to create a desktop shortcut, the old DDE interface with the Program Manager still works. There are a number of entries in the MS KB on this, and I wrote an article in FPA on it a couple (3??) of years ago.
