Thanks for that suggestion, I have now copied the offending sct and scx files to a FAT drive on this machine, but they will not copy from there to the CD - exactly the same problem. In addition I have copied the same files to a NTFS drive on the Server [W2K] and get the same unsatisfactory results. I beleive that the person reporting normal operation was using W98 and an IDE burner.
Still trying and still puzzled - no reply yet to my follow ups with Adaptec.
Will keep everyone informed.
