Thanks for the feedback. I'm an old Foxbase/Foxpro developer. When VFP came out there were bugs with DBCs, so I have stayed away from them. I understand (from other users) that DBCs are now reliable - what's your opinion?

As to the using views, which I have never done;

Can your using variables in the queries?
Does it esentially work like an SQL query, wherein it opens the table "AGAIN"?
Do I have to do any housekeeping (closing tables) after the view is closed?
Per your answer to my initial question, what is the ControlSource of the Grid set to?

Any "gotchas" I should be aware of in using Views?
