Why didn't I go to DevCon?

A) Yesterday was my 13th wedding anniversary, and I was told there might not be a 14th if I go to DevCon (he's a mainframer, and any conference sessions he's attended are generally marketing presentation, imparting minimal practical tips--and he's seen pictures from DevCons which lead him to believe that perhaps we play too much!).

B) Employer wouldn't send me. Big deadline next week was the prime situation ("no budget" followed shortly behind).

C) I start with PeopleClick.Com on Monday, so it wouldn't have been right to go on the University of Tennessee's nickel, anyway.

But I will be speaking at WhilFest! I'm looking forward to it.
