My understanding is that FoxPro uses the memory 'space' that maps in above the 2GB location for 'stuff' - and that this is where some of the performance benefits accrue from. A LOT of the internals rely on this to remain constant. My guess is that is't related to not having to devise a scheme to constantly keep trsck of pointers and such dynamically. Others more knowledgeable will most likely step in and correct me here but that's my take.

I'd also like to see the 2GB limit go away but I think the entire product would have to be re-engineered.

I'd really like to see a Linux version.
