Yup, that would work. And don't get me wrong, I am not going on a crusade to have blinking text as a standard <grin>. Like I said, there are many other ways to notify a user. Your examples would work fine and things like Roi's blinker come in handy for stuff like that too.

There is the possibility that he/she will forget about the message (I know my attention span can be pretty short sometimes <g>). With the flashing message it is a constant reminder of say, a critical task. I agree that there are many other means of getting the users attention. Just miss that flashing text option after all these years LOL
