>The things I would like to see in VFP is an updated Report Designer which can send report output to HTML
Don't count on that. Crystal Reports will be bundled with VS 7.0 and works just fine with VFP.
>and object-oriented menu designer
I'd like that too.
>and back-end security.
You'll be able to do that with the new database events in VFP 7.0
>And how about some MS marketing for a change so I don't have to listen to people's criticisms and dismissal of my programming skills when I mention that I'm a VFP programmer?
MS
DOES market VFP. What people don't realize is that MS markets something when it is first shipped, then backs off the marketing. They work this way for all products. I remember full page ads for VFP 6.0 in InfoWorld, PC Week, and the back cover of VBPJ when 6.0 shipped.

>That's what I would like to see. In any event, I'm currently focusing on acquiring expertise in VB/ASP and SQL Server (which I'm enjoying) so I don't really care about future versions of VFP except for building VFP COM or COM+ components that can be called from ASP.
You can build COM components now and COM+ with VFP 7.0.
