Couldn't get Linux to see any windows machines. If anyone knows how let me know.


Did you setup a master browser with Samba?
You have to make sure and set your OS level to something higher than 33. Just set it to 256 to be safe. That way, Samba will win the Browser elections over NT.
What did you use to try and see the other machines? Did you wait at least 45 seconds for the browse list to populate?
What version of Samba were you running?

I did all this and even added an IP in the WINS area, but still cant see window machines from the linux box. I'm sitting at the shell. How do I view the windows machines?
