>I have just started programming in VB. I am looking for a "universial" browse button as a control. It seems tedious to me to keep creating a browse button with the drvlist, dirlist, filelist controls all linked together. Surely someone has put these all together in a control or there is a better way to select a drive/path/file that I am just missing. I would like a control that I can pass a setting to so that I can tell it if I want the user to select a drive, path or file name. I would also like to be able to pass a text line to it, to remind the user what he/she is supposed to select.

Have you tried using the Dialog control and using the open dialog? There might even be a folder picker too, not sure though.
