One of our clients just gave us some .TXT files with millions of rows of data. I believe it came from an IBM Mainframe. Anyway, he 'overlapped' data to save space. For example: FIELD1 starts at position #205 and is 2 bytes long. FIELD2 starts at position #205 and is 3 bytes long, FIELD3 starts at position #206 and is 4 bytes long, etc.

Can VFP seperate those? All I know is to append from... type ..., but don't know if I can specify which positions to look at.

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks in Advance!
