>Gotcha is a euphenism for Got You. It is generally used to refer to anything that causes an unexpected problem, "That is a gotcha". Menaing that the situation will cause you a problem. It is also used when someone makes a joke or plays a practical joke on someone else where they might say, after the joke is done, "Aha, I gotcha!" again meaning "I got you".

........or as in Northern Ireland it would be "I've Got You" that is "I understand what you mean"
