After attending DevCon, here's my impression of the State of VFP. Note that this is all my opinion.
VFP is alive and well. Use of the product is better than it has been for a few years. Here's why I say this:
- Three conferences this year that were all well attended.
- Two magazines devoted to VFP. FPA is getting better. CoDe magazine is also available, and while it is gearing toward VFP, it is not really a VFP magazine. So, let's say 2.9 magazines.
- 40-50% of the people at Miami DevCon were attending their first DevCon.
- The Fox community continues.
- More books than ever before. And not just beginner "How to use Fox books".
I'm sure I'll see comments to the contrary.
