Matt,
>From my POV, a few hours re: what to expect with .NET would've been fine. But going into great detail about a product that's not even near completion yet felt like a waste of time. There were lots of questions answered with "Well, we're hoping that in the final release..." or "I'm assuming that ...".
It's obvious by reading between the lines, that the plan for the all-day sessions (to build an app from start to finish with Visual Studio.NET, showing how to integrate VFP components) didn't happen because VS.NET is still held together with chewing gum and string.
It's just not stable enough yet in pre-beta for them to reliably show the WinForms and WebForms designers, the VS IDE, and etc., in very much detail. Therefore, a last-minute change of plans and a day to fill. Still, some good info was there to be had -- it just was kinda kludged together.
>Oh well, the rest of the sessions were worthwhile and the beaches were nice <g>.
Exactly right. I'll add that the VFP CD, conversations with the VFP team, and hangin' with friends were well worth the trip.
