Michelle,

You qualify for special parking under the Americans with Disabilities Act. The ADA says that they should make "reasonable accomodation" at their expense for someone like you, and a named parking space is certianly reasonable. Walking 3 blocks isn't, and I'm sure the stress will ultimately add to the number of bad-walking days. It's the law and you are entitled to protection under the law.

They should provide you with a spot by the door unless something like that is totally impossible (like they don't have a door! ;-) ).

>It's a nice company and I think it will work out good. I'll still have to do SBT stuff, but they do other stuff, too. I'm hoping I'll get a chance to learn new things and be able to use the newer stuff VFP has to offer. My skills were really stagnating at the other jobs where all I ever got to do is modify ancient SBT code. :)

>The salary is less than I was making, but not bad for the area. The commute and distance to parking I'm not thrilled with, but it could be worse. I know some people have 90+ commutes, so half an hour isn't terrible. :) Parking 3 blocks away is going to be the hardest part. I have days that I can't walk so good, so it will be interesting to see if I can get to the building. At least there's an elevator. 5 flights of stairs would kill me. LOL!

>I'm really glad I can stay with VFP. I know it's silly to be so attached to a language, and I'm willing to learn a different one if it's ever necessary, but I really like VFP and will stay with it as long as I can.

>>Hopefully you will like this new company and will be happy and grow in your knowledge and experience. I hope also that the salary and commuting distance are good for you.

>>I'm sure they're glad to find a Fox developer close to home and not have to pay a big relocation fee!
