We came to the same conclusions about VFP6's App Framework.

We are also evaluating VMF. In fact, we had decided to adopt it and hired a trainer from VMF to come in and start us off right. The class was initially going to be attended by just experienced VFP programers from our dept. Then news got around and other depts started sending newbies with ZERO experience. The result was a mixed class... VERY difficult, if not impossible, to teach. The class was also cut to four days. A bad sign for something as complex as VMF.

Also, it was the instructor's first time out as a trainer and, to make a long story short, we are re-evaluating our VMF adoption timeframe. It may be later than sooner, if ever. Rather than present a well documented and materialed training session which sticks with the fundamentals, he gave us copies of the tutorial which is in the DOCS, which we already had and played with. Then he abandon even those and began attempting whiz-bang impromptu modifications of a couple of VMF classes. He would type commands in the command line and press return before anyone could see what he had done. Maybe he was trying to impress us with his knowledge of VMF and the 'ease' with which VMF could be modified? Several times in the four days he became hoplessly lost. He would then declare a 10 'break' (sometimes after only 30 minutes of class) and turn off the overhead so no one could see him flounder around. When class resumed, sometimes 45 minutes later, he always began by making some 'modification' to a base class and no one understood the reasoning for doing so. Then, another glitch and we got another 'break'. On the third day most of the class failed to show up and just the experienced vfp programmers from our dept, and a couple of outside vfp consultants, stuck around. We were able to pin him down of some specific answers to specific questions but all in all the event was a total waste. We learned very little more than what was in the tutorials and the zReadmes and zDocumentation.

Watching him, with his knowledge and experience in VMF, flounder around wasn't comforting to us who entertained the idea that we could learn VMF and improve our productivity and solve some issues regarding security, error trapping, and user login issues.
