You can speculate all you want over the future viability of VFP, but don't fool yourself, NET is the next big thing and its where everything MS is going. If you want contracts, VFP is going to be a hard sell.

It will be nearly a year before this stuff is released. Plenty of time to get up to speed on the new technologies. You can download the NET framework and start prototyping applications right now! I've been playing around with C# and really liking what I see.
