All I can say is what ever you do, there are plenty of competition out there already. Some are will established vendors, but most are some one - three man operations. Because of this, I think it's a good idea to go into it with an open mind and expect anything (good or bad) and HAVE FUN/work hard.
Like marriage, I don't think there is such thing as a "good" time to start. I'm doing this now because, unfortunately, I'm not getting any younger. - "JUST DO IT"
I really don't know much about starting a business myself, but I've read some books about small business and got together with a good partner who is knowledge about many things where I'm just a two trick pony. :)
