Delphi and Visual BASIC will always be more popular because they do not
only support database development work. They cover all the bases.
But, as with any tool that tries to do everything, they still don't do
database development better than Visual FoxPro 5. While VFP5 is a
true database development environment with its own language and
engine, those other products are programming languages with a database
interface. And, as far as an engine is concerned, they're always at
the mercy of another product for that, which adds complexity to their
database work. They can have it! :)
