ActiveX controls in VFP
Ola Jim,
I used the MSCOMM32 control successfully on a project about 2 years ago. The control was reading data from another machine's printer port - the other machine & software was printing a HCFA-1500 medical form, my MSCOMM32 captured this output and wrote it to an ASCII file.
Admittedly, while MSCOMM32 never missed a beat, I found the best documentation and examples included in the now discontinued Progress (Cresent Software) PDQComm. MSCOMM32 is(was?) a licenced subset of PDQComm.
Adios, Steven-
