Back when 5.5 first came out in beta, I tried it in NT 4 SP5 and it crashed all the time. I think I even reinstalled NT to get rid of all the problems and decided not to try 5.5 again. But in the meantime, I upgraded to NT 2000 and then loaded 5.5 and did not have any problems. I did not know at the time if my reformatting of the server 'solved' the problem or the switch to NT 2000 solved it. But from the other comments here, it looks like it may be the switch to NT 2000.
