I'm working on the Web UI Tips and Tricks material for next Wednesday's Lecture Series Chat (October 11), and welcome your input and advance questions.

First of all, I plan to present the "Top 10 Easy ways to Improve Web Interfaces", which will a collection of often-overlooked HTML, DHTML, and Scripting ideas making web pages more usable. Please come prepared with your own ideas, or feel free to forward them to me in advance for inclusion in the session notes and samples.

Secondly, I expect that we will have in attendance a group with varying levels of experience in building web pages, so it would be helpful to get an idea of specific problems that you have faced with the UI that you would like to see addressed. Please send any questions or suggestions of problem areas to me by email at mailto:dsharpie@mindspring.com.

Thirdly, I do NOT plan to incorporate XML into this lecture, since Erik is on a roll with that topic, but will focus more on simple DHTML, the DOM, and scripting.

Fourthly, please come equipped with an IE4 or above browser -- not everything presented will be cross-browser, although some of the samples will work in Netscrape.

Lastly, if you have never built a web page, please read up on the basic concepts of HTML at one of the many Internet sites devoted to the subject, such as :
