I undeerstand the GNOME is going to add greater compatibility to 'kparts'. I seem to be able to run GNOME stuff ok, but I think that is more of a distro-installation issue, since I use SuSE and while it default to KDE, both GUI's can be added if you so choose.
I downloaded a timelimited demo of a product called "Omins", which is SO GUI that it seems to get in the way at times. It is closer to an application generator than an application developer. You can find it at
