>I was in a build. The process stopped. I had to shutdown the system. When I went back into the project all the tables were gone. While tring to fix the db I deleted the dct file instead of the dcx file. Is there any way to fix this and get my database running again? Thanks for the help.

Nope. You have to restore it from backup. 'DCT' file much like 'FPT', it contains memo fields. Because a lot of database information stored in memo fields, it is not recoverable.

The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs

It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
