Mark,

Thanks.. I, too, get a little weary of having to deal with constant word meaning redefinitions.

I guess George Orwell was off by 16 years. <g>

Best,

DD

>>>A three day weekend coming up to thank that great explorer Christopher Columbus who found Ohio I think because America does not seemed to be named after him. So to all people living in towns named Columbus get out their and have fun....
>>
>>We can also thank him for the longest surviving misnomer in the history of the English language in thinking Native Americans were "Indians". And thanks to the pinheads that made that misnomer stick even when they knew better. Now whenever we refer to someone from India we have to explain that we're talking about "India Indians". Great. Just great. I hate having to pay for 500 year- old mistakes in everyday conversation!

I was born here so I am a native American. Based on that Politically Correct designitaion of the American Indians [Native American], technically this group is not native either. By definition, you are a native of whatever country you were born in.

>By definition of the Transitive Property, I am, therefore, a native American. For that matter, anyone born in North, Central or South America is by definition a native American. Therefore, I am offended that Political Correctness pundits have labeled the formerly named American Indians as the only Native Americans.

Best,
