Right Fax comes with I think 7 manuals, Lots and Lots of reading if you want to, however.... I would suggest that if you get it, that you pay someone to set it up, and train you on the basics first.

The setup, of it, requires it be running on a NT server , (maybe 2000) I dont know for sure...

and that you have brooktrout cards installed etc.

I did a complete upgrade, jan 1st, took me a 2 days from version 5 to version 7.

Its not simple... But once you get it running, its like the Battery Bunny,
Nothing to worry about,

As far as just dumping txt files to a folder, etc, that should work just fine, as long as your write a script, that sends them to the print que, or send them somehow to the an email address, which is connected to Right fax.

either way, your task scheduler could handle that without a problem.

The other thing about right fax, is it has a (scripting) embedded language in it, which allows me from inside VFP to send faxes, directly, either in the report writer, or from code.

the embedded commands you should find simple to work with, as only TWO are required,

thats it, put those two lines in your report, and sent the report to the right fax printer on your network,

The output of your report, is sent to the network printque, and sent via right fax, without anymore user input.

there are many more options avail within their scripting language, like billing codes, priority settings etc. But nothing besides these two are required.

the other thing I like about rightfax, is that since its connected to Email, if anything doesnt work for any users, they are sent email notifications of via email of non delivery.

It can handle advanced features like Fax over IP, Fax on demmand, from touch tone respones as well. (I have not tapped into those features yet,) but rightfax, is in my opinion, top of the line.

In the beginning, there was a command prompt, and all was well.
