John,

<g>

We didn't get a census envelope. A month or so later the lady showed up on our front door with the LONG form. I told her, "There are two people living in this house; one male, one female." Nothing else as I reminded her that the Constitution only required an enumeration, not a rectal exam (I didn't use those words with her <g>, but that's what it has become.) They wanted annual income, race, square footage of the residence, number of automobiles, etc...

She was very plesant and mentioned that 'somone from the office may call you."

I told her that was fine and they'd get the same answers.

Haven't heard from them yet but if I start posting from the Census Jail you'll know they came back. <g>

Best,

DD

>Why label at all? Always check "Other" on the race questions. Drives the bureacrats crazy :-)

>>I'm not advocating staunch political correctness here. I'm just saying that it is confusing to be referring to two completely different racial and geographic groups as "Indian". If we are to call Native Americans "American Indians" then what are we supposed to call people from India who have taken up citizenship in the United States? And to label Native Americans as anything Indian is still a misnomer (a 500 year old one at that).

>>Texas is in the United States? I always feel like I'm in a foreign country when I'm down there! <g>
Best,

DD

A man is no fool who gives up that which he cannot keep for that which he cannot lose.
Everything I don't understand must be easy!
The difficulty of any task is measured by the capacity of the agent performing the work.
