Both Crystal Reports and FoxFire! have better mechanisms for producing pure ASCII streams than VFP's native report writer; so did StoneField Reports, but Doug went and sold it, so it's no longer available if you don't already own it. Your alternative is to use the WIndows Generic/Text Only driver to design the reports, and stick to only using the fonts native to the Generic driver; rendering Windows native or TrueType fonts will require that the output get sent as a graphic rather than a simple ASCII stream.
