>I have this client who's thinking about rewriting a system in Fox 5 or 6. The system is currently in Access. Now I would love to see this happen becuase I am much more comfortable in Fox. But I'm not sure what reasons I can give them to give them that final little boost to make them convert. Can y'all help me out with some reasons? Thanks.
Access performance declines rapidly as the record count crosses certain threshholds (one was at the 32K mark.) THe MDB structure is fragile relative to VFP's files - the MDB contains all elements of the data, including data, indexes, forms and reports, so if any significant damage to the MDB occurs, the whole of the Access data is frobbed, as opposed to just the single affected file.
