I have an app that re-writes _MSYSMENU (using a menu created with the Menu Designer). In doing so, GENMENU will write out the MPR (and MNX) files with SET SYSMENU TO and SET SYSMENU AUTOMATIC. The problem is that since the activated menu is a full replacement for _MSYSMENU the EDIT menu and all cut/paste functionality disappears. I can replace the SET SYSMENU TO and SET SYSMENU AUTOMATIC in the MPR file with SET SYSMENU TO _MSM_EDIT and everything works just fine - that is the EDIT menu appears again and cut/paste works fine in forms. However, the next build of the app runs GENMENU again, which of course overwrites my SET SYSMENU TO _MSM_EDIT with it's own TO and AUTOMATIC again, thus killing the EDIT menu.

How can I add the edit menu functions in the menu designer so that they're always available?

Now, obviously I could create a new menu and not overwrite _MSYSMENU at all, then do SET SYSMENU TO _MSM_EDIT but I can't do that in this case (too long to explain).

Any thoughts?
