I have a wierd situation with a report.

I have dealt with many reports and canot see anything different with this report..

It has a memo field called "specrep.position" which is also what is placed in the field...

When they run the report they get....

String is too long to fit (Error 1903)
The allowable string length was exceeded.

It only happens on some data. Always in capital letters with some commas for example
TEST, THIS IS A TEST TEST TEST TEST, TEST AGAIN

Will give the error.

I had to change it to substr(specrep.position,1,254) then it works.


Would anyone care to guess why this might happen?
