What Mark says is true, assuming the tables and the database are in the same directory. The DBC just stores the RELATIVE path to the tables.

If you have them in different directories, consider putting them together.

Hint: if you close the database, and then open it as if it were a table, you can see the info it really has in it: USE database.DBC IN 0 SHARED
