The reason why I don't always think of oExcel.Application.DisplayAlerts is that it *used* to only work inside of macros, meaning that you had to actually be running a macro inside of Excel. It reset itself after the end of the macro, or in Automation cases, it always set itself back to .T. at the end of the call. I'm not sure when it got fixed...I ran into the problem in Excel '95, and it was fixed in either 97 or 2000. Since I can't remember, I'll just be safe and say that '97 *might not* work as you think it should, so be prepared for the workaround. <s>
