I would assume that they are talking about the database since there isn't much to the languge of SQL Server. Let them spend the money on SQL Server and use it as the backend to your VFP app. I think that is the best of both worlds. You would have a fast local database application for look up tables and other data entry and manipluations. Then a "robust" server for the data.

Do they have a DBA?
