>FWIW, it's not guarenteed to continue to be supported; if a future version of Windows drops support for the WOW VDM, many of the obsolete/"for compatibility" services may be dropped. ....

Is it really possible for WinExec? As I already said, it is oftenly used by programmers in Win32 applications, so dropping this function may be PITA for many programmers...

>CreateProcess() is more complex, but I use it because there are really tremendous advantages to it's capabilities, at least from my POV.

Not only from your POV ;)

>Yeah, I know a lot of VFP developers avoid using the WSH, but it's just too useful to ignore, and pretty easy to deploy. YMMV. I use it regularly, even when I know (and may have written) there's API code with similar functionality. Why reinvent the wheel?

Why? Ok, can you tell me, is it easy to find good resourses with sample of using these functions? I understand that high-level professionals do not need it, just read the help file and 'reinvent wheel', as you said. But this is just because it takes much less time than finding of samples. Usually, to save time, programmers even are too laisy to reinvent whell, so they use well-know old way - WinExec ;) <g>

The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs

It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
