>I think your understanding is correct. My chart shows the date of the Paschal moon (first full moon after the Spring equinox) being from March 22nd to April 18th. Since the Last Supper was a Passover Seder, I would think the calculation would be inextricably linked. Probably the only difference being the adjustment that's made so that Easter falls on a Sunday.

>>To make matters more complicated, Rosh Hashanah can only come on certain days of the week (to prevent the second day of certain holidays from falling on the Sabbath). So, I believe the calendar gets fiddled (by having some months have a one day Rosh Hodesh - beginning of the month - while others have two days). We've also reached the bounds of my knowledge, I think.

>In the Liturgical Calendar, you have the problem of dealing with one fixed (Christmas) and one moveable feast (Easter). In the Liturgical Year, determining the length and beginning date of all of the seasons are controlled either directly or indirectly by one, the other, or in one case, both.

>>Our high holiday prayer book likes the dates of Rosh Hashanah for a 20-year period or so. We have older and newer prayer books around, so I can probably produce a list from sometime in the 70's until sometime in the 20's. If you want, I can send you a list and you can see whether there's a correlation.

George,

I just realized that no one has discussed (or I just missed that part) the notion that our good neighobrs and friends to the north in Canada just celibrated their Thanksgiving. Does this new monster holiday generator provide for that case?
Best,
