No, I have tried it both ways, with the .close and without it. The reason I use the .close is because in a tftp client you are to "randomly" select a port number. The only way the winsock control will let you .bind a new port is to .close it first.
Could there be something either in a .dll or in the network parameters that could cause this.
Also, I recently when back and reinstalled some of the VS6 tools (from the CDROM). However, I have SP4 installed, could this be a problem that you know of?
