I have a couple of applications where I do the same thing. I place a timer on the main form and check for a file to exsist. If the file is present the system runs a shutdown routine. This works very well if I need to kick people out of the system or setup automated routines to run at night. and best of all by calling the shutdown routine Foxpro shutdowns corrently without any data problems.
