Gracias Alex, pero... does that mean, no, you can't filter tables/queries as you can in VFP?

If I understand what you suggest, I have to create a table with the 60 or so fields needed and then insert the appropiate rows from each of the 9 queries. In the report I then have to define and format the 100+ or so controls and labels. Sounds like a major bummer.

If MS would only ship VFP runtime with Office I wouldn't have to do these gymnastics everytime a friend needs a "little" favor.

>>Is it possible in Access to set a filter on tables/queries in forms and reports, that is, not assign the filter to the form or report but to the data? I am trying to make a report with fields from 9 different queries-elections from different years-which I want filtered by state and town. I tried to create an SQL to pull out only the records needed but Access choked on the SQL statement ("SQL too complex" error or froze machine completely). Also, I have the formats for the individual elections on forms and it would be much easier if I could just cut and paste the controls onto a report (instead of having to rename the controlsource for each control).

>>Can you work directly with tables and queries in Access. Access help is no help at all (unless you like wizards).

>>I know this isn't an Access usersgroup but I thought that someone might be able to give a quick answer and explain it to someone who is looking at it from a VFP perspective.
