I received information that there was a update for my Fax/Modem card. I downloaded and installed the update. Now I get a message that says that I have a bad MODEM.CPL file and to call the hardware vendor for support. Which I have done, but they (HP) want me to mail in my system so they can fix the problem. They say I would have my system back within 10 working days!
I have renamed & deleted the MODEM.CPL file, I have "recovered" it off the recovery CD, still the same message.
Any ideas on getting this resolved?
