MSDN used to have a whitepaper that compared the database performance and features of Jet, VFP, and SQL Server (6.5), and in one of the appendices there was a very useful feature checklist that had side by side comparisons of the products.

Made it quite easy to see which product was capable of what. I have a copy, but it is quite out of date (1996), and only goes up to VFP 5. You might want to look for a more recent version, if such a beast exists.
