The procedures i am trying to append are the RI procedures. it already has the spaces at the top and bottom and the error still occurs. i found the error logged on the microsoft web-site and it said the error occured because append tries to do an implicit compile which "is not support in distributed applications". as far as i was aware, the new version of foxpro 6.0 allowed for runtime compiles!!!!!
