when you log-in you probably get tcsh - as unix shell(if I remember typeing SET will tell you which shell you are using)
man tcsh will give you some introduction on this, and the commands it supports
then you can use man to get help on the other commands
note tham many commands are similar to DOS (because when DOS started it was kind of a mix between Unix and CP/M)
