also note the upper and lower case does matter and files that start with a dot (.) are not listed with a regular ls (dir) ls -la should show them as well there are several configuration files that start with dots (this is more or less like ini and/or autoexec.bat sort of files) .cshrc (script and setting for the current session) , .login (script for that occur on login) ,.rhosts (list of remote trusted servers - ie login without a password) etc. etc. etc. (s) Arnon >And be extremly careful with wildcards in file names, since they are the >same as in DOS, but the result may be total different and you can destroy >large numbers of files with just a single "*" used like in DOS. > >Vlad > >
